If KC loses to Baltimore Next Sunday and We Beat Denver...

If we beat Denver next week and KC loses to Baltimore, thedivision is ours. We'd be four up on KC with three games to play, and we'd be three up on Denver with three to play with the head to head tiebreaker in our favor.

That said this is probably the last game the Baltimore has on their schedule that is "losable". I would rather the Ravens lose, then we spank the Chiefs the following week to clinch.

At least that is my initial lean without having thought too much about it yet... :bolt:

I hear ya, but I think I'd rather clinch the division next week. Then again, getting another game up on the Ravens would be nice, too. Maybe we should just root for a tie.

moot points brought up, all we have to worry about is putting up as many more w's as possible, and i think we will have at least three more this year, if not four.

We need to beat both Denver and KC to clinch the division and also have a very good shot of at least the #2 seed.

    How about this:

Let's win them all then worry about where we end up. How does that sound?

How do you figure? If we win the next 2 that doesn't give us anything but a spot in the playoffs.

I want 14-2 and homefield throughout.

TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM
If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.
    1. If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker.
    2. If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.

    Two Clubs
    1. Head-to-head, if applicable.
    2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
    3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
    4. Strength of victory.
    5. Strength of schedule.
    6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
    7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
    8. Best net points in conference games.
    9. Best net points in all games.
    10. Best net touchdowns in all games.
    11. Coin toss.

No head to head so #1 in the wildcard tiebreaker doesn't apply.

With the #2 tiebreaker rule applied, Indy still has the #1 seed because they have a better conference record against AFC opponents than we do. We lost to two AFC teams, Indy only one

Wonderslug gets the credit for finding this

So we need Indy to lose one more. Uh, I got that already.

My problem is with saying it's a 2 game season. No, it's still a 4 game season because as long as Indy has the HFA over us we need to keep winning. If they lose 1, guess what, we still need to keep winning.

My point is, we need to win games. That's it. DO that and the rest will take care of itself.

    2 game season my ***.

Rivers is due for a big game and this will be Merriman's second game back from the suspension and IMO it takes a game to get back in the flow.

Our two young superstars will have us celebrating. :bolt:  :icon_party:

agreed, I was just making sure you knew that we could go 14 and 2, and NOT have home field advantage throughout the playoffs

If we get the AFC Championship here in San Diego, tickets will hit at least $1k per seat if not higher on the re-sell market.

It would be very tempting to sell a set of seats for $3k :icon_banana: :bolt:

I was rooting for the Raiders as I want them to screw themselves out a top 5 pick.
