We still have our backs against the wall. Even if the Chiefs go 3-3 over the last 6 games that means they still go 9-7. Looking at their schedule, 3-3 is an abosolute worst case scenario for them.

@SEA - Not impossible that they lose this given its in Qwest, but the Seahawks are pschitzo
DEN - No way Denver wins this one in KC.
@SD - A revenge game for us, an absolute must win, and I think we will.
@STL - Starting to come back to earth, Chiefs should win.
TEN - A team in complete flux, wouldn't be surprised at all if KC won.
OAK - Raiders may be mathmatically out at this point, their schedule is tough.

KC is ONLY in first place right now, because the Chargers F-up in a couple of games on ST. KC isn't some great team, just lucky the Chargers had some issues early on.

Antonio Gates’ injury feels “like a hot knife sticking in your foot”

Posted by Michael David Smith on November 30, 2010, 6:28 PM EST

Through the first eight games of this season, Chargers tight end Antonio Gates was having what could have been the best year of his Hall of Fame-caliber career. And then Gates suffered an injury so painful that it hurt just to hear him describe it in an interview Tuesday on ESPN’s Jim Rome Is Burning.

“It hurts, man,” Gates told Rome. “It hurts. It’s painful. I can’t really put into words the kind of pain that it feels — it feels like burning, like a hot knife sticking in your foot. It burns real bad.”

    Ouch.

After catching 40 passes for 663 yards and nine touchdowns in the first eight games of the season, Gates missed two games after tearing the plantar fascia on his right foot on October 31 against the Titans. Since then he’s missed two games and caught just four passes for 46 yards in the one game he played.

Gates told Rome he’s been struggling to deal with the pain.

“That’s my judgment, week to week, is just, Can I deal with the pain tolerance over a substantial amount of time, through four quarters?” Gates said. “If I can’t contribute in a way which will help our team, then I won’t go.”

Even at less than 100 percent, Gates can still help the Chargers, which is why he was on the field Sunday night against the Colts. But he’s helping the Chargers while causing himself a lot of pain.

How much longer till the pain wears off?

I would assume it should sooner or later, otherwise they'd put him on IR.

I did a little research, it sounds like the pain could last as long as 12 weeks after the tear. Not good.

According to Conc and his handy label maker.

I will root like hell but by the same token I know this team is not ready for prime time. Not yet.

In other words, Poo-Chee Prime will flip flop at will and try to point at others to take focus off himself... T-bone, you are a fake.

You are no match for me and trying to tangle with the master just digs your hole deeper.

You have nothing but worn out insults.

Just accept the fact I own you. Stop sniveling.

I am thinking of attending the Jan 2nd game.

By that time, we will have a new owner and tickets will be FREE and I just hope Anschutz shows up to see his fan greeting.

If this all plays out that day will be a day to remember. The fans will pretty much know the deal is done and it should be interesting and worthy of seeing LIVE ....... yeah .... yeah that's the ticket...........

Alex was showing up toward the end of the Coryell era so he was villianized by the fans. Hell, it was UGLY. Eventually, Alex was forgiven when we started winning with Boss Ross ........ well sort of .....

The bonfire the old timers have been talking about which means we burn all of our Chargers gear could happen in the parking lot after the game the new owner is announced.

I am sure some fans will be revolted.

The media will be there especially with that dude on the trumpet.

I see a bonfire of Chargers gear game plan coming together. We need to get ready. I will need to spend a lot of money so I will not be naked.

I cant believe how this season has unfolded.

It was such an easy schedule in the first 6 or 7 games, and we blew it.

Once Alex said the team was for sale during the middle of a freaking season, I think it sent a bad message to the players.

You save that kind of crap until the season is over but the excuse was money.

Why should the players care when the owner does not care ?

The players probably think they can get away with tanking and not having to be held accountable since the franchise is a lame duck. I bet this is an excuse for the players to party hardy knowing, Spanos, Norv, AJ Smith are all the F-outta here. If you had the money and knew you could get away with it, would you not try? Maybe that was the argument Castillo and Garay had ? PLayers tanking on purpose because they were partied out the night before ? It would not surprise me one bit. Ouch.

Sorry but I don't buy into any of that. Players have pride, players have personal goals, and If they won't play for the team they'll play for their next contract and a chance to catch on somewhere else in the future.

I highly doubt guys like Antoine Cason are on the field thinking...."well this team is gonna be in LA soon, so I won't try as hard." That makes no sense at all. When you put your hand down on the line its about kicking the sh*t out of the guy across from you, no politics required.

“Matt is a tough kid”, assured HC Todd Healey. “If anyone can come back and play with just one appendix, he can.”.
