I mean, you can't have your coach looking all calm on the sidelines when your team isn't getting it done. We need one of those fiery guys who will get all excited and yell and ****.

We need one of those fiery Super Bowl winning coaches like Tony Dungy, Don Shula, Bill Walsh, Joe Gibbs, George Seifert, hell even the genius himself, Bill Belichick. I mean that guy is constantly screaming at someone.

Is Norv the guy? Who knows? I certainly hope so, because he's our guy right now. But when I see people all concerned because he looks too calm on the sidelines, I just have to laugh.

Maybe kick a few players in the nuts too, eh?

Your sarcasim is right on.

People need to realize that it doesn't take an a-hole to win. Dungy's a perfect example. I read that his first meeting with the team, he walks into a noisy looker room and just stands there for several minutes until everyone is quite and then in a calm voice he says, "I'm never going to talk to you any louder than I am right now".

I don't think he ever mentioned anything about "the gleam" either.

    Naaaaaaaa.

I prefer a coach who can't coach instead!!!

"We missed a number of tackles.

We had problems handling them in space.

We need to be more physical.

We need to finish plays better.

We missed a check and gave up the big play. ... "

Now that's a winning coach speaking!!!! :broncfan:

    True that (re: Dungy).

I'm just saying that you shouldn't judge Turner by his demeanor on the sidelines. He may suck as a coach, I've yet to decide, but it's not because he remains calm during a game.

Lombardi yelled, screamed, and cussed like a drunken Sailor. Halas actually cussed out players all the time. He even fired an Assistant on the sidelines during a game once and more than once he cut players in the locker room right after a game. They were both pretty intolerant.

Dungy is a good example of calm and cool coach that has had success. Another was the long time Cowboys coach, Tom Landry. I think good coaches come in all varieties and the all can succeed if they are being themselves.
