He could be a good 1 year running back for us and we know for a fact that he will produce. We should still draft a backup but in the later rounds of the draft, that way we can focus on our defensive issues...

Then in next years draft, we can draft Demarco Murray!!! (the new AP)

I'd much rather go after Fargas.

I would take either one. I would rather have Jones, afterall he was a 1400 yd back last year. But a lot of that is scheme and game plan. I doubt he gets 800 here. But either one would be a one year stop gap to platoon with a rookie this year, and another next year

I doubt either Fargas or Jones would get a boat load of yardage here but if I had to choose between the two I'd much rather have Jones.

With a good draft, they might be contenders next year in the NFC. They have 2 good Wrs now (Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson), a great TE (Pettigrew), a good QB (Stafford), and now a good RB (Jones). Look for them to draft on the defensive side of the ball or some o-line and then they might be better than the Bears next year.

The colts used to be just like the Lions back in the early 90s with all losing records but they built their franchise to where they are today. I think the Lions might do that and in a few years, they will be atleast playoff contenders.

    Don't forget Vanden Bosch

If they get Suh or McCoy they could have a powerful defensive line.

i LOVE Demarco Murray, i was seriously depressed when he announced he was returning to school. If he came out, i dont care what the draft sites say, i would have him as the 1A/1B with spiller and would be my choice for the chargers

With that said, we can afford to wait for him

Thomas jones is not a great back, The reason he looked so great is because he has 5 pro bowl caliber linemen in front of him. Put him behind this OL and he would look only slightly better than LT did last year

With that said, i wouldnt mind us drafting a guy in the middle rounds (like dixon or Blount) and signing a mid teir FA like Ladell Betts/Larry Johnson/Rock Cartwright/Chris Brown, and then next year cut them and draft Murray

I doubt AJ goes that round, but any scenario where we end up with Murray is worth a shot in my book

yup. it all looks good on paper but we'll see how it all turns out. they still have to contend with the packers and vikings but I wouldn't be surprised if they do better than the vikings after Favre is gone.
