Haha I so told you so! Not Mario Williams, DeMorrio Williams!

Such an AJ move, I see it coming 24 hours before it happens.

Just tweeted the Chargers PR guy he mentioned two things
    1) The Chargers (Norv Turner specifically) mentioned wanting to get better at 'nickel linebacker', I assume that means someone who is better at pass coverage.
    2) The Chargers see him as another good veteran back up who will likely replace Diggs and will provide some ST play with Gachkar

If we are out of the race for VJ you seriously don't see us heavily pursing Mario Williams? What the hell are we gonna do with $14M+?

Where's the $14 million coming from? We don't even know what's the final salary cap figure.

The man who gave Jeromey Clary a $20M extension citing "continuity"?

Don't know what you mean, that was pure brilliance.......

Since FA hasn't begun this wasn't much of a fake-out. Nice try anyway.

Demorrio has always been considered a good cover LB. Hopefully he still has the wheels to help out there.

as of right now we have $26M don't we? McNeill isn't passing his medical and Jammer, English, SP could be cut or traded. So you figure about $12-16M hard cap is going towards Hardwick and Gaither and draft picks hopefully..

Who gives physicals for the Chargers? Is it the same guy who let Dielman play after his concussion in NY? Than I think McNeil is good to go cause that guy should have his license suspended.

And Mario Williams won't get the money Julius Peppers got are you kidding me?!?

Peppers had 81 career sacks, 30 forced fumbles, 300+ tackles in 440 games when he hit free agency. He also wasn't coming off injury either when he landed a big contract. Peppers was also 30 when he got a 7 year deal as well and Peppers had a rich history to..

Williams is at the peak of his career. He most likely wants to play in a 3-4 scheme seeing how he "loved" Wade Phillips' system with only 5 games played in it. I see him getting offers at 6 year/$60M - 7 year/$70M if that.. This is why we need to make a push at him. The kid is a monster..

Spotrac lists us as having $100.8M in contract payouts for 2012. This includes bonuses. Salary Cap is at $125M plus add Dielman's $4.5 payout and that gives you roughly $29.2M. McNeill is due $10.8M and i believe his physical is coming up before March 13th. Lot of reports saying he will NOT pass it. So i believe that will leave us with $40M for re-signings, draft, and free agency.

So you can look at it like this..
About $3M is set aside for rookies I believe for 2012?
Gaither will be about $8M on the cap for 2012..
Hardwick will be about $4M on the cap for 2012..
Harris will be about $1.5M on the cap for 2012..
Hester will be about $1M on the cap for 2012..
Mruczkowski will be about $1M on the cap for 2012..
Goodman will be about $550,000 on the cap for 2012..
Windt will be about $550,000 on the cap for 2012..

So thats about $20M right there.. that leaves us $20M for FA. If Mario is $12-14M on the cap for 2012 you could possibly pursue a Marques Colston or if Jackson is willing to accept a backloaded 3-4 year deal in which his first year pay out is $5-8M I'm all for it.

Grant it I'm just putting numbers together here.. So don't take me too seriously just having some fun and dreaming!

Based on your projections, there's no way we keep a guy like Tolbert if we want to sign a big name free agent.

yeah.. I'm not a big Tolbert guy though. I don't mind if we let him walk. I think we can draft a guy like Ganaway or Joe Halahuni, or sign an UDFA.

I also think Summers can be a replacement for him..

I hope to see Summers get a shot at being the starting FB..... we could use a guy who can open holes for the RB, not just a 4th and 1 option, like Hester.

I think Summers can be a RUNNING BACK. Nobody on this site see's that! Lol.. He was one at UNLV.. he has fantastic hands just turn the tape on to see that, and is a decent runner. I think we can be just fine with Mathews, Summers, Hester, Ganaway/Rainey, and Brinkley for back up in our back field.

What we need is a REAL FB though...... if we had a guy that could open holes like LoNeal did, then we'd be in business. Mathews would pickup big yardage.

LoNeal was a legend at that position. Easily most underrated player when LT had his breakout year.

Summers could deff be used that way and maybe Hester more as a RB. Hester doesn't have the size Summers posses but no way Hester is getting the boot if AJ is still around. I'd use Hester as a 3rd RB on the depth chart behind of course Mathews and I'm really liking Terrance Ganaway. He could be picked up in the 6th round or so. He will be a STEAL. Hester contributes on ST as well so..
