So far, early predictions are 30% chance of rain. Partly cloudy in the am to mostly cloudy in the pm. 60 to 65 degrees.

The real rain isn't supposed to hit until Sun night into Monday morn.

There is however a 100% chance of thunderstorms and frequent and violent lightning strikes around 1pm in Mission Valley.

Projection is up to 40%. It is pissing me off. A wet field is flat out bad for the Bolts in this game. Not only will it help the Jets, but it just makes this feel like 2004/5.

Shouldn't be enough to make all the difference, but I just don't like it.

Where are you getting this info from? Last night, Channel 10's weather guy said high pressure will form on Friday and it'll be warm through the weekend.

SDUT said we'll have Santa Ana winds tomorrow and the weekend will be warm. No talk of rain.

Weather.com for Qualcomm (92108) said: "Mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the upper 60s and lows in the upper 40s."

I agree the forecast this weekend will be "THUNDER AND LIGHTNING!". Let's crash those Jets this Sunday!

Actually, I think a little bit of rain, without any wind could help the Chargers. A sloppy field makes the footing bad, meaning the Jets line will have a tougher time of moving the Chargers defenders out of their assigned lanes. And a wet field is often harder on secondary players than receivers, since receivers know where they are going and the secondary players have to react quickly to the moves made by the receivers.

That is for Sunday night. RIght now from 10am to 4pm they show 10% chance. So hopefully it stays that way.

    I like TBF's weather.com site the best.

Thanks for the update. My link/site has returned to 30% chance...

Also, here is Acee's answer to my concerns. Nothing too insightful.

    Q:

    9:32 AM Jan 13, 2010

Hey Kev, I'm freaking out about the weather forecast for Sunday. Chance of rain according to many forecasts increased to 40% today. Can you tell us what the team expects, what steps they are taking and if they (or you) think it will have an impact on the game? Thanks!

    A:

    7:59 AM Jan 14, 2010

You're freaking out? My seat is the best in the press box -- except when it rains. Then it's the worst. That old place leaks and the rain blows into my computer ... Not much the Chargers can do. Sometimes Rivers and Hardwick take snaps in the shower during the week. The receivers wear gloves. They'll wear longer spikes.

I thought it would be cloudy with a chance of meatballs...

So, any of you Nostradamus types have the weather figured out yet? What's Aloha saying about it? She's almost always dead on, especially after it happens...

Forecast back down to 20%. Weather Underground has also given more details for Sunday under their 'hourly' category. Previously only had 4 timepoints during the day, now have many more.

    :abq2:

EDIT: I haven't watch the weather reports this much since I went on a cruise which was supposed to sail into a hurricane.
