Predictions, scores, which starter will be out for the season, etc.

My prediction, we give Saints their first win.

This game will be all about our Defence and if they can stop the Saints Offence from scoring a lot of points! If we keep them to under 30 points...Chargers Win! If its a high-scoring game e.g. 65+points total?...Chargers Lose!

I see 1-3.......and the chants for McCoy's firing becoming much more prevalent.

Chargers hold on to a surprising commanding lead for most of the game, then commence with embarrassing themselves and their fans with a 4th quarter choke.

And if by chance we avoid that fate this week, count on it double next week.

    "MARTY! MARTY! MARTY!"

As a figure of speech of course. McCoy is quickly becoming an interloper.

It all depends on which Philip Rivers shows up on Sunday.

Our problems are too many key injuries... not enough good coaching. We need to utilize our suddenly good run game and not use it as an afterthought or only on first down. The only chance we have is if Rivers takes a sedative and can settle down. He was too hyped up and a wild cannon out there. That first half was an example of a third grader who forgot to take his ADHD meds.

You can call me a turncoat, but I have started to question his ability to perform under pressure and win the big game. He used to be Captain comeback... but that was nearly ten years ago. Too many times he comes out like a jackrabbit on speed and is all over the place with his game. Enthusiastic is one thing... amped up, cross-eyed, and talking to yourself on the sidelines is another. He's the leadership figure on this team- he needs to get on an even keel- stop the happy feet and provide stability.

31-35 Chargers. Our running game takes the game and the saints give up over 150 yards rushing for 2 weeks straight. We use mccluster to his full potential while he has one more week to learn the playbook. Rivers throws for over 250+ yards with 3 td's. 2 to Te's 1 to rb. 2 rushing td's by rb's. The atmosphere of the game gives us the advantage. defense stays strong 4 full quarters but the mlbs are having trouble covering te's. Leading us to play zone while man to man vs cooks and snead. Close game but the chargers step up when we need them to.

I expect the chargers to win this game, if they don't though the season is essentially over

Should be a complete shoot out just like the last game, if the Chargers D (which is better than Saints) can make a few plays they'll win

    I just dont know.

My gut feeling is that the Chargers are much too soft to hang with the Saints. L.

I love Drew, but I don't see a blowout loss at all.

I expect Chargers will win or lose(both seem pretty likely) by just 3 to 4 points...

Or, phrased another way: For all their faults, the Chargers haven't been even a tiny bit
close to being blown out so far this season.
The 0-3 Saints, playing away from their treasured dome, hardly seem like good candidates
    to change that...

    I've solved our injury problem!

Does anyone notice the an obvious issue here?

^^^ Victory for whom? Autumn Wind, isn't that an obscure reference to the boys in silver & black?

If the Aint's lace up their sneakers like they did on Monday night, it may end up being a sort of track meet. All offense and hardly any defense. Sounds like the old AFL games...

Have I been compromised??? I think not...Go, bolts and stuff! But seriously, NFL Films, Facenda...definitely NOT obscure.

It's gonna be a shootout definitely. Chargers have a slightly better defense than the Saints...

It's not "obscure" in that any long-time football fan knows it's a Raider thing...
but since many (most?) posters weren't real aware in 1974, the last time the saying was big
outside of the East Bay, it's a pretty dated reference to most non-Raider fans.

But hey, I still call 'em the Boston Patriots sometimes... :whistling:

Three Chargers offensive linemen battling injury issues
Posted by Zac Jackson on September 29, 2016, 5:30 PM EDT

Chargers left tackle King Dunlap missed practice again Thursday due to migraine headaches, and right tackle Joe Barksdale was again limited due to a foot injury.

The Chargers had a new addition to Thursday’s injury and participation report. Starting left guard Orlando Franklin did not practice Thursday due to a back issue.

With three starters in question three days from Sunday’s game vs. the Saints, the Chargers have some worries but the team has experienced backup offensive linemen in Kenny Wiggins and Chris Hairston.

Defensive end Joey Bosa, who’s still trying to get healthy enough to make his NFL debut, was again listed as limited with a hamstring injury. Cornerback Brandon Flowers missed a second straight day of practice due to a concussion.
