Well, it's not like we've been asking for this for the last decade, or anything. Better late than never? ;)

If the Seahawks didn't want him, it must mean he's washed up. Hopefully we still go NT in the draft.

They were trying to re-sign Mebane too, just couldn't agree on a deal.

Hawks did want him. Papers up here in Seattle were reporting that the Hawks were pushing hard to re-sign him but Mebane wanted to test the market.

Okay, the Seahawks couldn't have been pushing that hard to re-sign him given the price we paid to get him unless he took less money to play for us.

I'm not sure if you're more arrogant or ignorant. You know so little but are sure you know so much. No one agrees with your moronic opinions. Most would see that and think, "Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Perhaps I should shut up." But you see that and think, "I clearly know so much more than everyone else."

I put him on ignore a couple days ago, which makes him part of an elite group of 3 that I just can't stomach reading. At least for the time being.

I love the banter, but at some point you just want people to be rational.

Seahawks are cash strapped, only about $17M available (not including draft) and they're trying to lock up Okung, Sweezy, and Lane. And it looks like they already lost Sweezy.

And for some reason they haven't cut Marshawn Lynch yet, because he hasn't officially retired. If they do cut him he'll be free to sign with another team if he decides to un-retire a la Favre, so for the time being he's counting for $11+M against their cap.

He is a little long in the tooth, but a good start. If he can give us 14+ games it should be a huge improvement over what we have.

Sorry, but is has been reported that the Chargers only paid $13.5M over 3 years to get Mebane. I took that information as given information (accepted its factual correctness). (On a side note, this signing could be one of Telesco's best, if not the best, in his 3+ years with the team.)

When I used the term "pushing" in describing Seattle's effort to retain Mebane, I was referring to their monetary offer, not some other irrelevant aspect of whatever they did to try to keep Mebane. That is, their "push" is their offer.

Either Mebane took less money to play for the Chargers (unlikely) or Seattle did not "push" all that hard to try to keep him (contrary to your assertion)--given that we actually got him for only $13.5M over 3 years, which is nothing for a good NT as evidenced by the contract secured by Damon Harrison in the $46M range for 5 years. Hell, Mebane is only getting Earl Mitchell kind of money per season and he is better than Mitchell.

That was my point and it is correct, notwithstanding your ad hominem BS attempt to obscure my perfectly valid point.
