Living in NE, this is the 1:00 PM CBS draw...but Welker was on the ground for a LONG time holding his knee and needed help to get off the field.

Ironically, the guy who did it was the same guy who did it to Brady last year, Pollard. This is not just a case of a player being shaken up, he is one of the toughest players in the NFL and he was just WRITHING.

If this is a team without Welker in the playoffs, I do not exactly fear them too much. I feel bad for Welker, he is literally crying his eyes out and being loaded into a cart...

this is a shame...Welker's a good guy....I don't think we needed an injury crutch to beat the Pats...and to be the best you have to beat the best.....Looks like his season is over and hopefully he'll be OK for 2010...although if it's the ACL, he's likely looking at 2011. After what we've been through with injuries, I'd rather everyone is healthy and we all play straight up to see who the AFC's Alpha Male is.

I generally agree but it is what it is. A team is 52 men not just the 22 starters. Being able to win after one of those 22 goes down just tells us that the other 30 are better.

Hope Welker can come back from this one but I'm not going to shed a tear for the Pats as an organization.

    Welker's knee is toast.

He's a great player, and I feel badly for him.

Every team has to deal with injuries at one time or another. This is just a bump in the road....a BIG bump, but a bump none the less.

Edleman is a Welker in the making, but he isn't there just yet. Thankfully, one of the characteristics of a Bill Belichick team is adaptability. They'll find the players to plug into the correct positions, no matter how strange it may seem to the general public.

Keep thinking that we're a wounded, under gunned team. There is NO team that you should take lightly starting next week. If your players and coaches get too full of themselves we'll end up seeing another LT meltdown at the end of the game.:icon_rofl:

    Enjoy your week off.

Sucks for Welker. He's a good guy. I'm sure we'll have a week of Belichick saying Welker is probable with an abdominal strain.

As for LT's meltdown, unless another classless douchebag pretends to whip it out and piss on the Bolts center field logo like that loser Hobbs, I doubt you'll see LT get angry.

So. They were already pretty screwed with the way they play this year. Now that welker is gone Brady has lost his go to guy. He is the brandon marshall of the patriots.... he is the everydown back of wrs!

I agree Edelman looked good, but you're not going to convince me he isn't a Significant downgrade from Welker.

Was Belechik having the QBs play rock/paper/scissor before each series to see who played or what?

Edelman looked about as good as Buster did, today.

Although I think both played well, neither is going to scare me to the point of making special preparations to compensate for them in respective gameplans. Welker is one of those guys you simply cannot replace; it would be like replacing VJack with Osgood and claiming that Kassim is just as good because he is tall and tough.

Exactly. COnsidering all the patriots plays ocnsitsts of throw to moss or throw to welker, moss could be getting the brandon marshall treatment next week. Not good for the faltering Pats!

Couldn't get the game up here in OC...nor could we get the Chargers game.

Patriots are hurting without Welker, and Brady has a broken index finger on his throwing hand and broke ribs a couple weeks ago...that said, he did win offensive player of last week.

It doesn't look good, and although furure results are rarely determined by past successes....lest we forget 2001 when Bledsoe went down, and Brady came in and won their first SB that year. He had thrown 3 passes in 2000.

I like the Pats at home next week in the January cold. After that, who knows, but they have certainly been snake bit since the final minute of the 2007 SB.

Didn't hear about this until the ride home while listening to the postgame show.

Damn...Welker is one of those guys that is basically uncoverable. One of the few players I see and fear when playing against them.

As for the new troll, ignore the scum. He'll get dealt with by some of us forum vets. He won't last.

Be careful what you say. I got a infraction, today for telling a poster to "eat ****" when he celebrated the Welker injury.

Celebrating a dudes injury is kinda weak, especially a good player and seemingly good guy like Welker.

If it was a Raider tho, have @ it.

What. I'm not glad he's hurting, just that he's not playin for the Pats. Im sure most pats fans and certainly belichump were glad that Rivers wasn't playing at 100% in the AFC championship game...
