....and still don't get why Ray Rice only got a 2 gamer. Something stinks at NFL Headquarters....

Commish admitted he got Rice suspension wrong, now the penalty for domestic violence is MUCH stiffer. 1st offense is like 9-10 games I think.... 2nd offense is out of league.

Because it wasn't addressed in CBA like PEDs and other drugs there was no standard until the uproar over Rice.

The commish should know that a 2 game suspension for beating your girlfriend unconscious is too light without having it spelled out for him. He gave Big Ben a bigger punishment for being an "alleged" rapist.

Better late than never, I say.

Too often people defend their actions 100% to their dying day.

Ironically, I can see this hurting Rice more in the long run:
Yes, in 2014 he's probably getting let off the hook for a few games,

but now he'll always be remembered as the jerk whose wife-beating
forced the NFL to have to significantly toughen their stance on domestic violence...

Well, in Rice's defense, she apologized for getting knocked out. So there is that....

His suspension is more like 5 weeks. Week 4 is the donkeys bye week, so he won't play until week 6. Welker won't be alone. Kicker Matt Prater is also serving a 4 game suspension for violating the substance abuse policy.

The bigger crime is that somewhere out there, someone's kid looks like #7...

He's hardly a teenager....... his lack of judgment alone deserves a half season suspension. Every football player knows they have to be very careful about what they put in their bodies. I frankly thought Welker was smarter than that. Not that I mind Peyton having one of his favorite weapons taken away.

I've never heard of this Molly stuff before and can't understand why any player would ingest something like this then go and act the fool.

Molly aka Ecstasy aka "X", isn't any different than ingest alcohol and acting a fool. It was the offseason and I hear that the Kentucky Derby has quite the party scene. At least he wasn't knocking women out. That, is acting a fool. With that being said, even NFL owners are not above the policy (see: Jim Irsay)

It's pretty different than alcohol, but that's another debate ;) frankly if my job had rules/testing like the NFL I would stay away until after my career. It's a privilege not a right to play in the league and those rules aren't some super secret mystery :p he knew better.

Do I think a little recreational use during free time is bad morally? No. But it is ******* stupid when you knowingly signed up to work for an employer with such strict regulations.

I'm not really into the drug culture of today hence no need to keep up with whose making the cleanest bathtub gin these days. I'm scared to death of the ones doctors give me wondering if my finger nails are going to sprout hair or God forbid a four hour erection!!!!!!

It does seem that alcohol is somewhat more acceptable to ingest than either illegal or legal drugs without a script. It's not in my job description to police up a bunch of young millionaires making it rain while having a rolled up C-note stuffed in their nose and ordering another bottle for the posse.

Well, one one hardly needs to go looking for molly stories, in a world that lumps Miley in with genuine news.

But I'm definitely not giving you a hard time for being behind the curve on molly, Hex...I think it's quaint. :)

Besides, there should be some kind of prize for any post that includes both
"...cleanest bathtub gin..." & "...four hour erection!!!!!!"

My humble advice: Keep it to poetry and try not to venture into the waters of vocal singer. For there, only the few can stay afloat. Behold! A rare performance and gift to your senses!

Molly, Miley & Maya have never caught my eye as far as news stories go, if fact, my home page has no "top headlines" viewable so I don't have to sort through all that garbage.

What all this has to do with Welker, me, you and the sun I have no clue. Just stay away from Molly, She'll bring you down.
