The way our team seems to get easily nicked up lately, we are playing 2 VERY physical games in Tennessee & Washington. Going into the playoffs (providing we are there) I just hope we don't have a repeat of years past of some of our key players out or playing through bad injuries. Damn it, what ever happened to clinching it in November?

The game of football is about dealing with injuries, no matter the team--coping with them speaks to a team's chances. The Colts are a walking infirmary, and they are finding ways to get it done, and the Saints are dealing with injuries to defensive players, as well.

The Chargers has been prudent by signing players like Harris, Johnson, Scott, and Runyan for depth, and all of our backups have not only filled in admirably, but many of the younger ones have shown that they have potentially-bright NFL futures, as well (Nwagbuo has been a space-eater, all of our fill-in safeties have been better than the likes of Kiel and Hart, English has been tenacious, Mruz and Dombro have been a part of a solid O-line, etc.)

I worry about this as well... but the last two weeks I really think they've just been conservative when dealing with injuries b/c we're heading into a very physical set of games + playoffs.

I have little doubt if the KC or Cleveland game had been playoff games or vs. really tough opponents players we sat or pulled after minor injuries would have stuck it out. Fortunately, we had the opportunity to get some key players a little R&R.

    Fingers crossed

And while some of our starters sat out with injury, our young backups got some valuable game time experience. As the saying goes, we can't have pro bowl players at every position and certainly not as backups. We seem to be finding good backup players.

Problem is we may have to go hard the rest of the way with the Donks being only 1 game back (hopefully 2 after Sunday) and Cincinnati in the mix for a first round bye.

The Vikes beating the Bengals this week would REALLY help matters...but we better be prepared to have to fight hard all the way through TEN. Maybe, just maybe, we can look at resting folks against WSH if things fall just right, but it's way too early to plan for that.

Yeah I cannot imagine they will be thinking of "resting" anyone for the rest of the season - not unless it's necessary...

Thank goodness for KC and Cleveland eh? Maybe Cleveland can take out the Steelers once and for all in 2009? :D A girl can dream right?

The good part of that is that they will be playing at a high level and and not going into the playoffs soft and out of sync.

Our Playoffs start this weekend with Dallas.

They had better be ready to play no matter what hurts.

Or they can start trying out for a new team.

We have to enter the playoffs with everyone playing on the same page.

no they don't, the Dallas game is not a must win, Cincy can lose at Minn and donk at Indy, if the Chargers beat Cincy they still control the second seed

Every game from now on is a playoff game. We need to keep playing at the level we are, actually we need to improve and just keep rolling. If Den/Cin lose that still gives us a game advantage if we win. Oh yea, and every game is a must win

Clinch in November? No one has clinched in November this year.

Playoff spots, much less division titles, weren't clinched until after Sunday's games.

    That's Sunday, --> DECEMBER <-- 6.

I don't like that VJ has disappeared and my fantasy team has suffered for it. We are coming up on the fantasy playoffs and I need him back.

What I was referring to was how many expected us to sweep the West and how Donks, Turds & Chefs weren't expected to do diddly. Many thought we would have the west wrapped up pretty early.

Trust me, after the first 7 weeks, I am just glad we have a playoff spot period, nevermind a division lead :abq2:.

We need to slam the door on the game when we have the chance...
If we're playing a garbage team, make it a fast kill. Knock em' out in the first half!!!
If we're playing a half way decent team (ei: Eagles) and get the big lead, stomp them into the turf and put them out of their misery!!!

We did that both times with the Chiefs and once with the Donks. We need more of it!!!

It will be HUGE if Indy beats Denver, and Favre and the Vikes beat Cincinnati, and of course we STOMP Dallas.

We'd be 10-3, Denver would be 2 back at 8-5, and the Bengals would be 9-4 with us playing them next week.

Probably the only time I'll be rooting for Manning and Favre to win.

Winning games against teams like Dallas is a habit I'd like to see cultivated by the Chargers. I would prefer to keep winning and see Denver locked out of the wild card. I think we really need to win this game just for the mind set.

Who is the "-INGTON" from? I obviously got the Peyton/Favre but the only one that comes to mind is Chad Pennington :/
