Everyone is scheming him. Now that Rivers had his coming out party, they will probably focus less on LT.

The Steelers were definitely keying on LT. That's why Turner could break some big runs.

Opening up the playbook and letting Rivers throw will make eams play the pass more and this in turn will open things up for LT. Expect some HUGE games from LT this season.

yep. The more we play the passing game, the more opportunities LT is going to have. When teams can't stack 9 in the box, LT can punish them. But, the Stealers are still a pretty good defense. It's not like the raiders kept him in check. LT will have a great game next week and down the stretch, as our offensive options open up, LT will be gaining plenty of yards.

We need to come out in a 3 reciever set to spread the d around, and sometimes put Gates in motion to make it look like a 4 reciever set. Betcha LT will get some running room then..

  He is still a big go to go guy and he
will get his numbers. After 1st quarter
in Oakland every linebacker looks to him.
    Nothing's wrong with Number 21

LT gives up easily. Doesn't run aggressively anymore. Looks very indifferent to what's going on in the game unless it's a critical situation/goal line situation but by that time the other team is playing with a sense of urgency too and he gets nothing done. 3.8 ypc on the year that is a joke for a supposed hall of famer RB. To juice up his stats/productivity he would need to be used like Brian Westbrook is being used, but that would never happen on a Marty team and it's a bit too late for that regardless..

    Yeah what JDog said!
Plus more of the 2 back set and needing to get it to LT inspace instead of this constant between the guards crap.

I wore my sun glasses at the game last night, at least 'till I got kicked out of the stadium.

The party line all offseason has been that the team would lean on LT in order to ease Rivers into the starting role...Every team we face hears it over and over again, "the first thing you have to do is stop LT"

Lets see how things shape up now that Rivers had had his coming out party...

Man, you are really funny. LT has had a very good season. While that might not show on the stat sheet thus far, he has been a huge part of our success.

LT's biggest contribution last night was in blitz pick up. All the backs did very well handling Polamalu and the blitzing LBs.

If LT had LT to take the focus off of him, he would be outgaining Michael Turner.

Okay, get ready to slam me, gentlemen. :icon_mrgreen:

I sound like a broken record, but LT switched to a very unorthodox training regimen after his career year in 2003 (the 100 catch season). He hired a new trainer who never worked with football players before, made LT do core training and other stuff, working muscles that LT said he never used up to that point.

Soon as we heard about it, I voiced my concern that it could be detrimental to his production, either by increasing his risk of injury, or slowing down his speed and quickness by developing muscle groups that may not be condusive to playing running back in the NFL.

Well, for the last two years LT has been injury-prone, and I swear he doesn't have the burst that he had back in '03.

Is it possible that I was right all along? :icon_shrug:

I don't know why this would make me a hero, but it's true. I was escorted from the game by two police officers. On the way out I told them to check out the website.

Come on Leisure, you know the real reason why LT wears the dark visor.

Wow. I can't believe there is even a thread on this but I guess I can somewhat see what can be perceived as poor productivity from LT. I don't agree with LT giving up or really have much criticism with the exception of a few missed blocking assignment.

Fact is that great players force defenses (and offenses for that matter) to account for them. Rivers' success in the passing game was due mainly to LT forcing the defense to respect his running abilities.

Part of what pleased me about last night's game was that the Chargers recognized that the defense were stacking up against the run and so we made adjustments by changing the type of running back and by focusing more on the pass. You take what the opposing team gives you. Sooner or later, they will also have to respect our passing game and then LT will have the break out game that we all love to see. Either way, I'll take the win through the air or on the ground; doesn't matter.

Steeler Fans are just like their team. They fold when someone actually stands up to them and show they aren't afraid.

He told me he was going to kick my ***. All I said back to him was, "ok". He got up and left. Next thing there is an usher standing next to me and he's on the other side of the usher.

Then two police officers walked up. They grabbed the wrong guy, but I told them it was about me. They had me walk down to the entrance area. They had me empty my pockets and give them my ID. I cooperated 100%. Then they told me that I had a choice. I could be escorted from the game, or I could be arrested. As they were telling me this, the guy's girl friend walks by and says that I didn't cause any trouble. The police say that her boyfriend wasn't the ony one that complained. The usher complained too.

If the usher complained, it was only because this idiot that threatened me complained to the usher first. I told the girl friend not to worry about it and enjoy the game. I was then escorted from the game by the two officers. I understand why they did what they did. They didn't care who was right or wrong, they just wanted no problems. While they were walking me out I talked to them about the Chargers and told them to check out the website. They actually said they would.

So really it was no big deal. It was stupid that some guy starts a problem because he's pumped up with too much testosterone, then goes crying to the ushers and police when I don't back down.

I was in no way intending to attack him or do anything. If he wanted to hit me, that was his deal. I never threatened him or anyone there, but he claimed that I did.

Apparently he got into it a little with my friend after I was gone. My friend went to get a beer while this was happening. First thing when my friend gets back this guy says to him, "what was your friend's problem? He was a total *** hole!" My friend responded, "nope, you're an *** hole!" Apparently the guy sat there and pouted the rest of the game. I think he got some serious **** from his girlfriend.

I met some great Steelers fans at the game. Even invited a few over to do tequilla shots with us. The irony was that the Steelers fans I befriended earlier were in the same row as I was. When leather boy went to get the cops, they were telling me that guy was such an *** hole.

This was just one idiot. I don't put all Steelers fans in that category.

If I'm your hero, come meet me at one of the tailgaters. We'll drink a few beers before the game.
