I'm not sure but the Chargers should be somewhere around 17-20 million under the cap (take 5 million for rookies) let´s say that leaves some 12 million, assuming that no other huge FAs will sign (maybe a couple of 1-2 million a year signings).

What would you do with the execess cap space? extend/restructure someone, move cap hits to 2015 to leave more space for 2016? or...?

Well they still have to work on PR17 and Weddle, right?

I would't mind giving it to them in the form of a big signing bonus for their extensions

Don't know what Rivers and his camp want, but I'd hand him a 4 year extension through 2019 with an average of $18m a year. That would take the total value of the contract to about $90m with a signing bonus of $25m and guarantees around $50m. He'll most likely want a deal similar to Romo's.

Weddle should get a 3-4 year extension as well, averaging $10m a year.
