Hey, so see a lot of secondary charger graphics (mainly online) use a blue horse. I think it's really cool, actually cooler than the lightening bolt.

Does anyone know the story of where it came from, why it's not used more prominently, and where the whole sheild came from?

    Just wondering. thanks.

I guess what I am really asking is, was the war horse originaly our logo? And if so, how did go from war horse to lightening bolt, and when did the shift occur?

because every old uni I've seen has the bolts. thanks, and sorry if this is a stupid question.

A generic term for a horse used in warfare is a "Charger" .....

There you have it, shamrock knows the answer to everything. Can you also confirm for me that the answer to the old riddle, "what's the sound of one hand clapping?" just a guy beating his meat? Never mind, I'll just ask Trump.

I think the horse is badass and I've always wondered why the hell it's been one of our logos.

When the Chargers played in Balboa Stadium, after every touchdown a "Knight" would ride around the field on his horse or his "Charger"

Thanks for the links guys, it googled it to know avail. I always got the war horse part, I just didn't get why it was part of some graphics but completely absent from others, almost completely dropped.

Also didn't get the connection to the bolt, other than the obvious pun.

The Charger was replaced with the lightning bolt due to the Broncos and their donkey mascot/logo.

Bloody Donks stole our horse to replace the goofiest dumbest *** logo in the history of sports.

Those links people put up were great.

Does anyone know when the cannon first showed up at the games?
