We as Charger fans have seen a plethora of 'shooting stars'. Players that shone bright then faded just a quick.

Natrone Means: pounded out the yards, fought with the GM and went into obscurity.

Antonio Cromartie: Seemed to be a shutdown corner, then seemed to have forgotten how to play.

    Ryan L... Forget that one...

What causes this? Is it a lack of self discipline? Buying into their own press? Forgetting they have to work to be good? Accepting 'good enough'?

What? In your opinion what causes this?

I'm not going to vote in this poll because I don't believe there is just one answer. It depends on the player and the situation.

I have to agree with Thumper. Cro was a success because of the pressure we got on the QB. Give the QB time and Cro was a non factor. Although he believes he was being used wrong.
Natrone, I don't remember much of that. And LT, well.....father time caught up with him.

I think Cro is a perfect example of why there needs to be a rookie cap. These guys need to earn their ability to get rich playing a game, by doing it in the NFL year after year.
