THis is getting ridiculous. We keep fallin into a bigger and bigger hole. Unless we have another miracle like in 08' the league's best offense and best defense(they look like it today), will not make the playoffs. ITs rare enough to have the best o and d. It will be pathetic if we don't make it. Thanks to norv and his turkey neck its a real possibility!!! So at what point is it ok to fire this guy? I think most 8 year olds on madden cAN call better plays at this point. Come on man. Can't we fire him now? Do we have to wait till we're 2-7, 2-10, 2-14? Till the offseason? Till we miss the playoffs next year? Until we get the #1 pick again? WHen does it end. I think Ryan Leaf wouldn't be much of a downgrade at coach these days. Whenb does this bullshit ever end?

Anyone who is talking about 'demoting' Norv is fulling yourselves. He will not take a step down and remain with the team. He will take the check for the remainder of his contract and go to another team.

I know, but it's a nice wish, then again if Norv can "keep" this team and have them playing hard and smart the rest of the season then he might not be as bad after all, but if he "loses" this team he has to go

End of the season, gotta wait til then at the earliest. We won't unless we just crap on the rest of the schedule. Earliest I could POSSIBLY see us firing him is if we go into the bye losing all our remaining games. But likely end of the year if that

I still think that if Norv is released during this season or right after it, AJ goes with him. I think Spanos will clean house and start over.

    MHO of course

Fulling yourselves? Do you mean Fooling? He is a pussy, if they came to him and said " we need you to demote yourself, we need to save this team..: he would agree..

Also take a new pic and shave your beard you look like a douche from lakeside.

    LOL

and to answer the question, if the Chargers lose the next 2 then fire him during the bye and make Ron Rivera the interim head coach, if they go 1-1 or 2-0 in the next 2 games, then as soon as the team is mathematicaly eliminated from the playoffs and promote Rivera.

BTW, Conc, I know he wont be fired during the season (or offseason, or nex season...) but I can dream

If we fail to make the playoffs,

I'm for firing Norv, hiring "Chucky" (and a real offensive coordinator, perhaps promoting Joiner to fill that role), stockpiling draft picks and giving AJ one more chance to make this team better in April.

    Keep believing,
    all is not lost,
    we've only lost 5,
    11-5 is still possible.

Yes I do believe, I do, I do I do believe in Norv Turner.

I believe in the tooth fairy, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and Norv Turner.

I agree. I don't believe Norv can handle the issue of our team self distructing early in games. We will win more games this year...I believe it. Even if we won out the rest of the year, these flaws will show up in post season. Norv has no influence on them which is a shame, because he should!

I have been doing my best to support Norv through this, especially with the fumbling, but after the final call, I'm through with it. Your at home, you have New England against the ropes, and you choose to kick a 45 yard FG to tie the game on 4th and 2. I'm sorry, if you miss the kick your game is done. Do you hang the game on the new kicker who was playing left couch last week, or do you give the shot to your 100 million dollar quarterback who brought you back into this mess you created?I can almost rationalize the 45 yarder, almost, but once Louis got the false start and they moved it back to a 50 yard kick, you cannot allow him to kick it. Give your offense the shot at 4th and 7. A 50 yard kick from a dude fresh out of his house has almost no shot of going. Brown actually hit it pretty well but he shouldnt have been out there. If it's truly Philip's team, then let him win it. Norv will be here for the rest of this year, but if we cant pull our heads out, I hope they roll him outta here and bring in Cowher/Chucky/Dungy or hand the reigns to Rivera and bring in another OC (Hopefully one who runs Norv's system, but has the balls to call it with authority).
