I think if we get a rematch against the Bengals, we can beat them. Andy Dalton is terrible in the playoffs. To be honest if we got in, I think only the top 3 teams in nfc(seahawks,saints,49ers) could handle us. All speculation but how far do you think this team could go assuming it gets in.

Not far IMO. If we do get the 6 seed we're likely headed to NE, DEN, CIN, or KC...all of which will likely be very cold if not snowy (Except Indy who has a dome, which presents other problems).

But I get what your saying, there is no overwhelming team in the AFC this year.

In theory, on their day this team is capable of playing with any of the AFC teams, I think the most likely victory would be against the Bengals. They've lost Geno Atkins for the year, their run game with Green-Ellis & Bernard isn't as dangerous as KC with Charles, and Andy Dalton doesn't really scare anyone. If we get in, that's the match-up you'd want.

I think you're right, but the thought of a playoff game in CIN brings back bad memories......

I honestly believe we can beat every AFC team that's going into the playoffs. NFC teams are different but if we make it to the Superbowl to play one, we will be hot beyond belief and then its a toss up

If you look at the Chargers against the best 5 teams they've played: [as of 12/15/13]
(by record, leaving out their game against the Bolts)

    Denver 10-2 (11-3 incl. Chargers) L W
    Kansas City 10-2 (10-3 incl. Chargers) W
    Cincinnati 8-4 (9-4 incl. Chargers) L
    Philadelphia 8-4 (8-5 incl. Chargers) W
    Indianapolis 8-4 (8-5 incl. Chargers) W

Outside of the Chargers, these elite 5 teams are 44-16 (73.33%) (essentially 12-4 seasons)

Chargers are 4-2 against this bunch, including wins in Denver, KC & Philly)

So, if the Chargers can beat 73.33% teams 66.7% of the time, well, yes,
it's a slam dunk that the Chargers can play with anyone in this league.

Of course, the 600 pound gorilla in the room, is that because the Chargers
squandered numerous games against much weaker competition,
that they didn't "take care of business" in the way a good team does…
and that is why this thread is, sadly, probably moot
since this dangerous Charger team likely won't get to face anyone in the 2013 playoffs.

If they can play every game like they did against Denver, then they can beat every single team in the AFC, hell the NFL. I think the only team in the league that can cause the Bolts trouble is the Seahawks. That is, if they can play at the level every game.

Thankfully the only thing that's the same today as then is the location and team nicknames.

Hell, the Skins and Texans can handle us, so anyone can handle us. Likewise, we have a shot at anyone. I agree that the Seahawks would be a tough match-up, but if we make the Super Bowl, I'll **** anyway. I can see this team pulling off an upset in round 1, maybe in round 2 (especially if in Denver), but not 3 games in a row. Way too inconsistent.

IF the Bolts get in the playoffs, and IF they draw Cincy, here's hoping for a heat wave.

If the Bolts make the playoffs, I think I would just as soon spin the wheel with Peyton - call me crazy.

Just about everywhere they'd have to play carries the risk of cold weather and snow.

Anybody, if we put similar performances in like we did Thursday night, this team can make it to the Super Bowl.

They have to get in first though.
