I say we sign "Kick-a-licious" to come in and beat Novak

The kid was released by Detroit only because they were planning on going with Akers the entire time

    Possibly Cotton, and Hill

Chargers add strong special teams player, sign ILB Reggie Walker to one-year deal. Played for ST coach Kevin Spencer in Arizona.

They should send this video to the marketing dept. If this kid is not taken by any team, he could at least put on a show for us during halftime, right after the frisbee catching dog act...

Chargers placing DE Damik Scafe (foot) on injured reserve, per source. Makes room for Sean Lissemore, acquired via trade from Cowboys.

    Broncos released RB Jacob Hester.

Signed last November, Hester took the rock 17 times in the regular season before an injury to Knowshon Moreno thrust him into a big role in Denver's Divisional Round loss. A five-year veteran, Hester will look for a job on special teams.

Good pickup. He just wasn't a good fit for the 4-3. Should be a decent backup to Liuget and Reyes.

Did we really trade away our 2015 7th or was it a typo and really meant 2014

I like Sorenson, but I truly think the team should just waive him and hope nobody snags him so we can place him on the PS.
It would allow an extra spot for depth on offense or defense. If for some reason he is swooped up, would anyone really lose much sleep?

Well, since the guy was a 7th rounder to begin with, I think that sounds about right... not worth more than that.

Actually, I think Sorensen has shown enough that someone would grab him.

Given the importance of the QB position, and that Rivers is no kid (and hasn't quite been All-Pro of late, either)
I'd be surprised if management would risk losing a possible future QB,
just to add another also-ran lineman who has never been able to crack a starting line-up.

Byrne, 4 others join Chargers squad
Tight end crosses opponent lines before season opener

The Chargers will try to slow the Texans offense next Monday night.

Someone familiar with it is on their side.

Jake Byrne agreed to join the team's practice squad Sunday, a source said, one day after Houston placed him on waivers. The tight end is one of five known practice-squad additions, as left tackle Nick Becton, cornerback Marcus Cromartie and outside linebacker Thomas Keiser all signed a contract. They were part of the Chargers' final 11 cuts on Saturday.

Tony Clemons also agreed to terms on a practice-squad spot, a source said. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound wide receiver was waived Saturday by the Jaguars.

Byrne spent this offseason with the Texans, joining them in January. He was in New Orleans' camp in 2012 as an undrafted rookie from Wisconsin.

Byrne, 23, and Clemons, 24, must first pass a physical before officially signing with the Chargers. They'll open the regular season on Sept. 9 against the Texans.

Three spots are left to fill on the San Diego practice squad. Cut Sunday, defensive end Brandon Moore is expected to take one of them, presuming he clears waivers.

God, I really hate sounding so negative, but despite all the activity the Chargers
have engaged in today, I'm really not any more impressed with this roster.

Jake Byrne? (who, you'll note, even AP thinks is Jake "Byrnes"...and he may as well be)

I'm sure he's a nice kid, but he's known more for being diabetic than anything he's
ever done on a football field. He appears to have peaked early in his college career.

Graduated 2011. Caught 1 pass for 14 yards that season.
Undrafted. Signed by N.O. but not on any roster in 2012.

Hard to see any point to this signing beyond who is week 1 opponent...

Surprised we didn't sign Hill. He has potential and could benefit from being on PS. Young RBs with heart are never a bad thing to have on PS especially With RM's issues staying healthy and Browns age.
