There was a preseason game this year where the dude backing up Cam called the game. I think it was Clarence Shelmon (RB coach) who called the game and he kicked major league asss !!! :bolt2:

That dude got my attention with the calls he made.

He was calling **** I had not seen from Cam and did a good job moving the team. A few timely screens really got my attention on a few drives.

    James Lofton:tup:

I was relieved when Stanford chose someone else as their HC, for this particular reason.

It was the SF preseason game.

Shelmon would get my vote as the next OC if Cam leaves.

    Dennis Green fuggin' sucks.

When he had Cunningham throwing to Moss and Carter, and Robert Smith running the ball he did well. Plus a bunch of studs on the OL and defense. Yet, he couldn't get that team over the hump.

He's had a TON of offensive talent in AZ, yet he sucks.

No to Denny Green. Hell no.

I'm still clinging to my hope that when we win the SB Marty will step down and Cam will step up to HC.

    :icon_shrug: It's a dream I have.

Arizona has 5 candidates on their short list, and Cam isn't one of them.

At the top of the list is Norm Chow, for obvious reasons.

I think if the Raiders let go of Shell, they'll go after the released Denny Green or Jim Mora.

That leaves Atlanta aching for a new head coach, and the thought is that the Falcons' ownership will be looking for someone that can use Vick to full advantage, by creating and calling plays that have him frequently bootlegging and optioning. Maybe Cam is on their list.

If the Giants let go of Tom Coughlin, a lot has been written that they would go after Charlie Weis and pay the "penalty" that his new contract demands to lure him away from Notre Dame.

If Saban leaves Miami for Alabama's $40 million offer (over 10 years), that would leave an opening with the Dolphins.

I believe it was the second half of the SF preseason game where he called the plays. Yes, he did a pretty good job. Whoever we get, I'm hoping for someone who can open things up a bit more. Maybe just not be so predictable. One thing I hate to do is be sitting in the stands or at home watching the bolts and be able to call the play they're going to run. If I can do it, so can the other team.....

I can't believe anyone with even a modest knowledge of pro football would even have the slightest thought of hiring Dennis Green to coach a team. Heck, I wouldn't trust him baby-sitting my cat let alone coaching.

HE IS WHAT I THOUGHT HE IS!!!! (or 'was'....)

Someone made an interesting point regarding our coordinators, as I had asked the same question about a month ago. Anyway, if we make it to the superbowl, our coaches won't be eligible for any of those positions until Feb. All the more reason for us to make the superbowl. We keep our guys hands off until after our season is done, which by that time, a good handful of the coaching jobs will already be filled.

-Sean Peyton signed on as the Saints head coach on January 18 of last year.
-Eric Mangini signed on as the Jets head coach on January 17 of last year.
-Scott Linehan signed on as the Rams head coach on January 19 of last year.
-Brad Childress signed on as the Vikings head coach on January 6 of last year.
-Herm Edwards signed on as the Chiefs head coach on January 9 of last year.
-Gary Kubiak signed on as the Texans head coach on January 26 of last year.
-Mike McCarthy signed on as the Packers head coach on January 12 of last year.
-Rod Marinelli signed on as the Lions head coach on January 19 of last year.
-Dick Jauron signed on as the Bills head coach on January 23 of last year.

The lone head coach signing that occurred after the Super Bowl last year was the hiring of Art Shell by the Raiders on February 11.

With that said, the futher we go, the less likely we lose a coordinator.:bolt:

It depends what Cam wants to do next season. I think either Ramsdell or Lofton might get the job next year if Cam decides to go

I always thought he was over rated because any average coach could have got atleast one Super Bowl title out of that Vikings team he had. One trip to the Super Bowl at the very minimum!!!!

Doesn't sound a hell of a lot different then the situation he would be in here in San Diego does it? I think the problem with the cardinals is that they were the cardinals and they frak up and screw up constantly. Green does have talent for offense and the ability to work well with alot of players so it wouldn't be implausible to see him here and see him successful.

He gives nicknames to his players. They were showing a KU practice on TV and the offensive line was doing a blocking drill and mangino gets in the face of one of the linemen and says "knock'em back chewie, that's it... knock'em back"
