Why are SD sports fans better than Boston sports fans?

I'm willing to listen to any and all rational offerings.

    Are they smarter?

    Are they more loyal?

Have they had to suffer more?

I'm asking because I don't know the answer. I do know that there is a core group here that loves to bash Boston in any way possible. I'm just looking for a tangible reason.

Can't we all just get along........?:icon_toast:

Smarter... who cares? Only the Raiders fans try to play trivia games since they like to live in the past, when they were good.
Loyal... according to many, no! It's because we have other things to do than go to a bah and watch sports and we have what's called a "transplant population." People actually like to relocate to our city and they bring their loyalty to their old team with them.
Suffer more...yes! The Red Sox may have humbled the city beyond belief but in the end they've won two world series. The Celtics have had two dynasties and are beginning a third. The Patriots are just dominant this decade and were just as dominant a couple decades ago. SD has had no world championship trophies from any sport but soccer and even that was short lived. Plus we Charger fans have had our superbowl dreams upended twice by the same team, those ****ing Patriots so yeah, we kind of hate Boston.

Not really much of an argument, but, you get points for being succinct.

Does it sucks being from Boston. Like really. You can be honest with me. C'mon deep down i know your thinking. "People from here are ***** and i have to be a boston fan because i was born here". You can switch over to the better team. You know want to. We won't tell.

    I don't think it's quite that simple.

You see we're better fans because... well... everything about us is better than anything about Boston. The west coast is the best coast, straight up. Of course you'll never recognize, admit, or come to grips with this fact, but we are good enough to be aware of your geographic shortcomings. You see, our weather is better, our beaches are better, the women are better (and wearing way less), the food is better, the population density is considerably less (which is better), our jobs are better, and we are happier and better people as a result.

Now I'm sure you would like to say all the same things about the **** hole you're from, but spare yourself the embarrassment. I don't want to do any more damage to the little bubble you've built in which some gay cultural facet or some douche bag attitude assuredly justifies the ****-hole you call home. So I'll just say that we're all very glad that you're fond of Boston.

    Unless, of course, you're a sports fan.......

I've been to San Diego, it's a great place to visit. It's a little too superficial and transient for me, but I guess it's right up your alley.

I like the seasons here in New England so the weather factor doesn't hold water as far as I'm concerned. Having snow at Christmas is great, the way it should be. Snow other wise is an annoyance, but a pretty one none the less.

I have to admit, I'm glad I have New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island as neighbors rather than Mexico.

This is true, but, I'm still waiting for a "sports" answer. This isn't supposed to be a weather/suntan lotion/bleach blonde/surfer thread.

Maybe that weather is why you can't get through the playoffs when it's cold out.

I gave that to you in the beginning. We're better sports fans because it isn't our lives. We have so much to be proud of here in California that we don't grasp to our sports teams as the only way to feel good about our home. We don't have any trophies to show for our teams' efforts and most of us are not phased one bit.

Snow is annoying, more annoying than rain. Cold weather's only benefit is hard nipples.

Okay, I'm sorry, I missed it, what exactly are all these things that you are proud of.

Please don't tell me the beach, bikinis and weather. Those aren't "grown-up" things to be proud of.

    In short, No.

I hate Boston because of the jerkoff fans that go along with the jerkoff teams. I hate Randy Moss because I can't respect anyone that refuses to play at 100% unless he's on a winning team. I hate Tom Brady because he's a *****. I hate Bill Buttcheek because not only does he cheat, and poorly at that since he got caught, but he was so unapologetic it was disgusting and the only thing that kept him in the league was the fact that Roger Goodell gets regular rimjobs from Robert Kraft.

That's just football. To keep it short, I also hate your stupid accents there because you can't even speak english, the Celtics are gay for a million more reasons, and I don't even like baseball but if I did I'd hate the Red Socks for some reason or another.

Oh, and MIT is full of a bunch of nerds. And snow is gay. So is Matt Damon.

I hate Boston because of whiny crap like this.

You'll never be satisfied with ANY answer.

But to recognize that our climate is among the BEST in the world is being "grown-up".

No, Florida is it's own private territory. :icon_twisted:

Since you're nearest neighbors are Hispanic you're more like Californians than cave-bostonians.

Please consult the "Is this game not sold out?" thread in the Chargers and NFL Forum.

    Nuff said about SD fans..........

There must be a kite surfing event or a beach volleyball tournamnet on Sunday that's keeping the fanbase away.

Luckily I go to most of the Pats home games and don't need to worry about sell outs.

Even I can recognize that you have some of the best year round weather in the world.

If you're "proud" of that I have to take issue with your city's control of the weather patterns for SoCal. Pride and weather aren't things that generally go hand in hand.

    How about history?

Healthcare and access to world class medical facilities?

    Educational opportunities?

    Per capita crime rates?

You've already conceded the "sports fan" part of my argument so let's stop blindly bashing the two cities and go with facts. I haven't checked, but I'm guessing Boston has the edge on San Diego in most categories other than 80 degree days.......

Dude, you shouldn't be worried about sellouts. Our season has been sold out. They just capped the season ticket sales and sold some individual seats. Enough of those were sold to alleviate any blackout worries.

What are your PSL's costing you at the razor

Conceded? Hardly. You only quote/read what you want. Typical for a grabbass, front runner Bahston fan.

Like I said, no answer regarding our sports pride is ever going to satisfy you.

Take a trip back through this thread. I got a lot of "we have better things to do than follow our sports teams," "we have great beaches and weather," "our girls are better looking," "Boston sux and so do their fans with their terrible accents." Honestly, that's 3rd grade school yard crap.

Give me a chance to hate your reasoning behind your unfounded superiority complex.

I was a legit Sox fan for 26 years before they won a World Series. I was a Pats fan for roughly 20 before they broke through. I got lucky with the Celtics in the 80's and stayed loyal the whole time.

As for tickets, I'm on the company dime and my seats cost $600 each per game.

Oh, and in case you didn't realize, the next home Red Sox game should be the record breaker for the longest run of sold out games in Baseball history.
