he is to tall to play the nose. The nose tackle requires you to a little shorter 6'2, 6'3 335 lower center of gravity theres more power at the point of attack

I remember him getting a sack on Rivers last year. Rivers commented on how big he was, but that was about it, and was probably the highlight of his 08 season. Not that they always make the best decisions, but I think if he was that good he would still be with the Oakland. They didn't draft any DTs this year. When Jamal went down there was another thread in here talking about how lazy Sands was. Everyone in that patriots thread is hoping that wilfork returns soon and that Sands never really plays.

In related news, anyone thinking AJ will try and draft Terency Cody from Alabama? 6-4 360 NT with good technique but zero pass rush.

That too tall crap is bullshit. Jenkins is playing out of his mind in New York and he isn't under six foot four. You can be tall and play the nose, you just have to be athletic enough to maintain leverage.

Because AJ didn't think we honestly needed a prototypical NT but instead wanted a bunch of little 300lbs instead

Getting a sack on Rivers would have been the highlight of his season. The guy has a really, really lousy attitude. He's been a major under achiever his whole time in the league.

My guess is, that it's because the raiders cut him....:icon_shrug:

I'm pretty sure AJ knows about the quality of players that are coming out of Oaktown, and is just gonna let the Pats and Raiders keep trading players....Pretty soon New England is going to be another Broncos team in which they are riddled with cast offs...Ala Cleveland Browns.

One would think that a Nose Tackle who is tall would take away a passing lane, and as long as you can maintain your leverage than who cares what height you are.

And if the Raiders cut him let the Browns pick him uo.

Albert Haynesworth did pretty well at Tennessee, being 6' 6" and 350 lbs.

    I think Tennessee plays a 4-3, not a 3-4.
