Why hasn't Spanos purchased any tickets this year to get the game on TV?

Why shell out hard earned cash on the fans ?

Spanos has the team for sale.

The LAST thing on Alex Spanos's mind right now is loyalty to the fans.

Maybe - JUST F'n maybe - MORE season ticket holders will get the message their wife (the team) is about to pork the mailman and love it as you head out to work. Keep buying that wife diamond rings because she is showing it off on the shaft of her new lover.

Oh .... And Alex would have to pay .30 on the dollar (something like that) for every ticket purchased.

    Damn good point.

Why after selling a chunk of ownership for Realty *whatever*, would he be chunking in more wasted revenue on games that should have sold out?

Why didnt the special teams keep us from finishing with a EZ 13-3 record and subsecquently leaving us in very prime position to make a strong playoff push?

I dont give a flying V about answers now, I am already starting the deflation process on my Post Season Automatic Guaruntee jubilation.

Fact is if this team played up to its *even* 2 year ago on paper hype, this wouldnt be a topic/discusion.

    He COMPLETELY MISSED the POINT.

This has NOTHING to do with the remaining away games. That should be massively obvious.

He is asking about past blacked out games.

Spanos is a business man. He owns the Chargers why would he give stuff away when he is trying to make money and sell the product. Why don’t they just go back to the way television used to be, and that they never show the home game to the home town people sold out or not! Then when they broadcast the entire away games portion they can put it on a pay per view site, that way those guys overseas could not pirate the scrambled signal. You would need a card and a receiver just like Direct TV works! They could make more money that way, and they could reduce the time it takes to play a game because of the elimination of all the commercials.

The NFL is all for corporate America now, the fans are just a small by product.

We dont have enough Charger fans in the stands to begin with, why should he back those who do not want to be there to begin with?

I think it should be obvious that I was referring to the couple games that were blacked out to start the season.

Well, just as to who bought the remaining tickets in KC is up for speculation. Last year, KC had one blackout, their first in 156 consecutive games. Where were their owners or "partners" then? The same article also states that:

I'm not defending Spanos here AT ALL. I think it's just a sign that the owners in the NFL won't buy up remaining tickets. Look at Tampa Bay. They haven't sold out ANY games this season and they're 8-6. Cincy is also blacked out this week, again. Oakland too. Buffalo sold out, but probably because they're playing the Pats.

It is time for the NFL to stop having blackouts all together, blackout are a holdover from the times before the huge TV revenues and the networks need to push to abolish them.
