Everything I read now is about Norv developing Rivers. Isn't that still Ramsdell's job? Going into his second season as a starter we should see great improvements from Rivers. Is Ramsdell the forgotten coach here?

Good point, probably because Norv is the new gun in town?

Ramsdell has a better record than Norv does with QBs really. Its funny how he was one of the favorite hires last offseason and one the best coaches of last year, yet now his position is pretty much duplicated.

Your right, we are not giving the guy credit. It is always easy to over look position coaches.

Another question: How long can we hold on to Rivera as only our ILB coach?

    1 year

I think next year Cotrell steps down as the DC and Rivera jumps intop the position

I really think Cotrell came out of retirement as a favor to AJ to help him teach Rivera the 3-4 defense

No, they both signed the same day, it was the same day that rivera was let go by the bears, but everyone knew all along that rivera wasnt gonna re-sign with the bears

Yeah the timing doesn't make sense with that. AJ had a ***** for Cottrell for some reason. He's shown little reason for it outside of his defense's with Wade's help. It's back to the blind faith deal. The only way Cottrell is gone is if the defense sucks this year.

I thought it would be the other way around. I felt Rivera was only coming for a year or two, so he could learn the 3-4, and enhance his resume. He's interviewed for alot of head coaching spots the last couple of years and been pigeon-holed as a 4-3, cover 2 coach.

Sorry LittleTrain, I did not think before I posted.

I gave you an AFL emblem by way of an apology...

Cotrell only signed a 2 year contract while Norv has a 4 year deal

Pretty sure that means that AJ doesnt see him as a long time fix at the DC spot

Who are his disciples? I know of Kurt Warner, who went from grocery boy to MVP, Marc Bulger, who went from Saints practice squad I think to Ram's prolific starter, and now P Rivers. Great stuff, but are there more? How did the backup QB's fare? Obviously Bulger did well behind Warner, but how 'bout Marc's back-ups? How 'bout our back-ups now?
