Don't get me wrong. I love Sproles and Tolbert but Hester was supposed to bring our running game to a whole new level.
We saw him in preseason and the crowd went crazy when he got the ball. Especially when he scored a touchdown.

Then again, we didn't see Turner at all last season until like week 11. But he was into his third season. If Norv has a plan to use Hester in the late season and/or playoffs... he needs to get him on the field for a few snaps.

He did play some, mostly as a blocking back.

OK but how about giving him a chance to take the ball and run with it?

The emergence of Tolbert has negated much of Hester's ability IMO. Hester was brought in as a guy that is very versatile, who can run and catch the football. Tolbert can do both of those things extremely well, and he's a better blocker. Hester has done fine during certain situations when Tolbert needs a rest, but the bottom line is that he'll have to really work to earn some playing time with the guy ahead of him playing so well.

Yes, this is more about Tolbert emerging out of nowhere. It is to the coaching staff's credit that they are playing the best people, and not starting Hester in order to justify the price we paid to draft him.

And Hester is a beast on special teams, so at least he is making a contribution.

Why not put Hester behind Tolbert in short yard situations or in a shotgun situation and release Hester after initially blocking? There's ways to get him on the field same with Sproles, its just a matter of thinking about it

It's a good problem to have. I think over the course of the season we'll get everyone involved.

We're in a grove on offense right now, no need to mess with a good thing

Just got get it started in the first half

It is hard enough spreading the ball around to all the other skill position players, I don't see the benefit in having Hester and Tolbert on the field at the same time.

Remember that both of those guys are rookies. IMO you pick the best player, do what you can to develop him. That means giving him all the practice reps he needs, get him as many snaps as possible in real games. Taking PT away from Tolbert just to get Hester on the field will hurt us in the long run.

well, I don't really know about that. Sproles was out for a year and really had to work his way back onto the team. I thought that when Turner was out, that sproles definately made some noise and showed how much of a weapon he is. I remember him making some great returns before he got injured as well.

But anyway, Hester will get his when he's ready. There's no need to force things right now.

Tolbert is doing great on the field so unless he's hurt it's better to leave him in. Like the saying goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

TK- By the way, I like your avatar. Captain Marvel was one of the comic books I used to collect way back when. I know, I'm a comic book geek.

Hester is a typical rookie. He'll learn. We've been made accustomed to people who have been discovered by AJ and come from out of no where. I think we tend to forget the normal rookie curve around AJ.

If you remember, he voluntary left last season.
Then the same b!tches who whined about him asked him to come back.

It's just like the "Norv Sucks" threads. When the b!tches in here have nothing to b!tch about, they don't know what to do with themselves!!!

It's not the same, but whatever. I'm not arguing with you over pointless stuff anymore.

OK BUT if they took that to extent you are asking, EVERYBODY would be banned, including YOU. Cause then your sarcasm would not be tolerated either.

P88F is who he is. You open one of his threads, you know what you're going to get. NOBODY forced you to read it!

Hester has one rush for three yards in the Jet's game. So he's off to a roaring start. I'm sure fantasy football owners are going crazy trying to get him.

I agree but I'd still like to see what Hester can do.
LT, Sproles, Tolbert and Hester could be a huge impact in the playoffs!!!
