He's been streeky for sure. As terrible as he can do he can do pretty well. THe thing is, in the NFL you can't expect to win and or keep a job if you do awesome 25% of the time and **** your team over the other 75% of the time. WHere do you think J cutler will be in a year? If he has another game or 2 half as bad as San Francisco Chicago will be begging the Raiders to trade him for Jemarcus Russel and that's saying something!!!:icon_toast:

I like this thread.....Cutler is a little baby. I wonder how he stacks up against Philip? Wasn't that the big thing about this guy? Better than Elway, better than Philip.

Better by Ryan, and not by much......BUST!!!!

Yes, because there are still mediots who think he is a franchise QB. They're right, he is, but they always forget to add the "KILLING" part between Franchise and QB.

The guy has thrown 17 picks this year. That's after 9 games. :icon_eek:

I don't even want to think what he's on pace for the season. :icon_eek::icon_eek:

I'll still  about it though.

I don't think he's around if the Bears have a losing record. Nor do I see Lovie Smith coming back if that happens.

Chicago's invested too much in him to give up on him after one year.

Besides, who takes over for him if they dump him?

And throw him into the fire week 1 of next year?

    It's not going to happen.

I'd bet a year's salary that Jay Cutler is the starting QB for the Bears week 1 of next year, barring injry.

Yeah I have a feeling Jay Cutler is just going to be one of those guys that is always overrated. Naive fans and analysts who are awed by armstrength rather than substance will make sure of that.

There will always be a team ready to take this kid, he's going to be in the NFL for a long time, hopefully we get to face him again soon.

Did they not trade their first round pick for him?

Yup and they don't have a second round pick either.

They signed him to a mini-extension after there sort of hot start. no way he is not starting next year. The blame will fall on Lovie Smith and maybe Jerry Angelo (GM).

The big problem that the Bears face is that they really need a big influx of young talent, but they didn't have a first day pick (rounds 1-2) last year and they won't again this next year. They are going to have a hard time getting good young talent if they keep doing that.

    Bingo!

If Cutler bombs, Lovie Smith will be the first guy to take a fall. Jake Utler will be given a new opportunity, with a new coaching staff... and after he effs that up, he'll be gone!

That won't be until 2012, though.

If I'm not mistaken, the Bears gave their 2010 #1 to Denver in the deal to acquire Cutler, so... No, no quarterback in the 1st round any time soon.

The real kool-aid drinkers will lay a lot of the blame for the Bears crappy season at the rash of injuries suffered by their defense...glossing over the fact that Cutler is an immature chucklehead who will cost them more games than he will win for them. 2009 in Chicago isn't looking good..and 2010 isn't looking much better. Couldn't happen to nicer guy! :icon_rofl:

When Chicago gets tired of his act, he will bounce around to a couple of desperate bottom-feeders looking for a quick fix...he isn't it. Jay, repeat after me "Do you want fries with that?" You need to know this for your life after football.

He has to, you don't spend those sort of draft picks and that sort of money on a guy to bench him. It's the same contradiction you have with any top draft QB you spent a ton on (see Ryan Leaf, Jeff George, Jamarcus Russell) - you've invested so much in him you have to keep playing him until he's so absolutely putrid you can't get away from it

God this game could be so close and entertaining but the show-ruiner is Cutler, not having the talent to perform where it counts.

First year in the Bears offense, he will have up and downs. Their style isn't suited for him. Perhaps the next coach will be more offensive minded.

He would excel in the Vikings Offense, or even the Chargers offense, but not the Bears.

Except no because he throws so many ints that the offense would never have the ball enough to succeed!
