How cool will it be for LT to break Jim Browns record in Cleveland where he played...

LT need only 23 yards to break Marshall Faulks record and 56 yards to break Jim Browns record... :abq2:

What, because LT will break the record there? I think the fans in Cleveland might actually appreciate the history of it. Should be interesting to see the kind of reaction he gets if he breaks the record.

He could throw 2 TD too just to break another record. :)

He will easily do this. How great is this to pass Jim Brown in Cleveland, especially after Jim Brown dogged him this year after slobbering all over him in 2006.

Jim Brown is a POS IMO.

Break it hell, smash it. Brown is nothing more than a sour old man that needs to shut his pie hole.

I'd love to see it but I'm getting the feeling that Norvus doesn't get it. In the 4th qtr of the Chiefs game LT spent more time on the sideline than in the game. With the game in hand we had an awsome op to get LT an extra 30 yds. I'm doubtful that LT breaks JB's record in Cleveland. Big Dean needs to put the boot to Norvus's AZZ about giving LT a chance!

He was protecting him against injury, saving him for a goal line TD opportunity. It's a safe bet to let Tolbert, and Hester do mop up duty for yardage, but let LT score the TD from inside the 5.

I wonder where Jim Brown will be during the game? Be nice if the two could meet and shake hands...great accomplishment by both men.

you see... there was no need to keep LT in, this isnt madden. do you remember what happened to tim tebow a lil while back? they were up big and kept him in and hellooo concussion. theres no need to risk it when you are up BIG. they werent putting together drives, they werent threatening to come back so its just unnecessary. and LT already had 2 tds, spread the love. everyone enjoys the TD adrenaline rush.

Exactly! I want LT in one piece for our playoff run...because it looks like we are definitely putting one together. If we have the game well in hand we have the luxury of sitting him (and Gates) and letting the young guys get some reps. Personally, I believe LT when he says it is all about the championship now.

...and yes, I hope he leaves Jim Browns numbers in the rear view mirror on Sunday!!

    here's the list

    1. Emmitt Smith 18,355 (6,098)
    2. Walter Payton 16,726 (4,469)
    3. Barry Sanders 15,269 (3,012)
    4. Curtis Martin 14,101 (1,844)
    5. Jerome Bettis 13,662 (1,405)
    6. Eric Dickerson 13,259 (1,002)
    7. Tony Dorsett 12,739 (482)
    8. Jim Brown 12,312 (55)
    9. Marshall Faulk 12,279 (22)
    10. LADAINIAN TOMLINSON 12,257

the number in parenthesis is how many yards LT is behind

    1) how many yards will LT have at the end of the season? (I say 300) so he'll end up in 8th less than 200 away from 7th)

    2) how many yards will he have at the end of his Chargers tenure? (hopefully he stays one more year, has 800-1000 yards, so he'll end un in 6th 100-200 yards behind 5th)

    3) how many yards will he have at the end of his career? (he might get another 1000 somewhere else so he'll end up 4th at around 14,300 - 14,500)

If LT could some how get 1000 yards this season, which is really unlikely he'll be 7th. Although it would be nice to see him break Brown's mark in Cleveland. Maybe he can even get his first 100 yard game now that Rogers is out.

Jim Brown works for the Cleveland front office in some capacity. He will be at the game.

Curtis Martin and Jerome Bettis are NOT in any way better than LT, and should NOT be ahead of him in yards when LT retires !!!:icon_evil:

We need to let them get more game experience as well. I'm not convince that these guys are any more than career role players, but maybe they can develop. Fat boys and running back are next years draft priorities. Against the Browns, LT ought to have a field day. It's possible he could break the record before the first half is over. And as for Brown, it will be a cold day in hell before he has enough class to come out and shake LT's hand.

    Mr. Brown’s House

Running back LaDainian Tomlinson[IMG] cracked the top 10 on the NFL’s all-time rushing list Sunday, and he’s got a future Hall of Famer and a legend within striking distance this week. LT heads to Cleveland with 12,257 career yards, just 22 behind Marshall Faulk for ninth place and 55 behind Jim Brown for eighth.
Brown, who is a consultant for the team with which he played, will likely be in attendance Sunday.
“I think it will be special if we’re able to do that, but I haven’t really thought about it too much,” Tomlinson said of possibly passing Brown. “Hopefully it happens. That would be a special place to do it.”
Tomlinson also enters Sunday’s game with 134 career rushing touchdowns. Three more will give him 137 in the 2000’s, breaking Emmitt Smith’s mark for most rushing touchdowns in a single decade.
Cleveland is one of four teams that passed on LT in the 2001 NFL Draft. The Browns had taken running back William Green in the first round the previous year, so they selected defensive tackle Gerard Warren with the third pick. Tomlinson landed with the Chargers fifth overall.

If Tomlinson did it he will tie another Smith's record, 36 games with multi-touchdown.

Weather is supposed to be somewhat o.k., little cold, but no snow, maybe a little drizzle as well.

Great game to run, run, run, run.
