I'm thinking Strong Safety, we should be able to get a ROT in the second round.

If Barkley falls to us I'll take him, other than that a top ten pick is where you can usually add a stud pass rusher, which would improve our shyt coverage a bit, or at least disguise how snuffy they are.

I can see AJ Smith's(sorry but he won't be fired) plan already.

Trade Top 10 pick for a lower Draft pick

    - Choose a sure fire Bust

-Trade Second Round pick for injury prone of a player.

This team is a joke. What makes you think they'll all of a "sudden" choose wisely?

Best player available in all likeliness. Don't think there's a good OLB at that point, same with SS. OT might be the best bet but a new CB could be impossible to pass on, same with WR

Am I wrong thinking if we do get in the top 10 and if Trent Richardson is on the board as we pick, that trading back with the Bengals for 2 first rounders would be a good idea?

ahh. yes. you are reaching that any kind of logic enters in AJs head. Remember English, Keil, Whitehurst? three busts.. and now Mathews. oh yeah, Norv and Ted Cotrell.. lol

AJ wont ever trade DOWN.. It is to logical. He is having to much fun playing 'control freak' and trying to 'out smart' other teams.

Trade up with desperation and trade down with confidence. AJ is a desperate man.

Yes. AJs belief that he is the cleverest man in the room is not going to end because of one 4-12 season.

Assuming we are picking @ #10:
    1) Dre Kilpatrick CB Alabama/Jonathan Martin OT Stanford
    2) Mark Barron SS Alabama/Kelechi Osemele, G, Iowa State
    3) Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford/Cordy Glenn OL Georgia (bet he falls here)

I think they should go bpa @ LOT/SOLB/SS
And then look to go ROT later in draft.

They've gotta lay off on CBs. Generate a freakin pass rush, and even Cason could look semi-okay.
TE just isn't as immediate a need as the 3 positions above. It will be soon, but so will be WR, RB, CB, etc etc

The blood is gushing hard enough now that they have to look to the present and rely on Gates, Mathews/Tolbert, VJ, Vasquez/Dielman to get them through until 2013 draft.

I maintain that it's useless to get excited for an AJ led draft though. It's like the Chargers themselves. How many times do you need to be fooled before you finally realize it's not going to be any better in the coming year?

They need to fire AJ. I have no idea what John Spanos is going to do. But hopefully he'll factor in the scouts' opinions a bit more.

First, I believe we are all in agreement that to fix this team is that we need an overhaul of the coaching staff.
Second, lets trade down a few times and gather as much picks as possible to regain what AJ gave away.
three, fill some holes with FA. Lets see what this team can do under a new coaching staff.

Real Answer, do whatever it takes to get Jim Harbaugh here.

I just want a head coach that has an attitude. A guy that demands accountability out of his players. A guy that when a player screws up isn't afraid to get in their face and tell them YOU FUKED UP!

We had that in Ross and Marty and Dean felt that it was better to let 'winners' walk.
