Yup, Bamberg got a win against the last place team. Next week, I will be at the game in person in Bamberg, but they play the 1st place team FV Illertissen. Gonna be tough. They are still battling relegation.

According to who you believe, but the announcers were saying that even the Costa Ricans wanted to finnish the game and told the ref to continue. There was also some confusion with the announcers that if the game was stopped, whether or not the game would be replayed from the minute (and score) it stopped or if the game would be re-started from the beginning, erasing any current score. So much for ESPN taking over soccer. They can't even get the rules correctly. Go FOX soccer and GOL TV.

Ah yes. The Mungersdorfer Stadion on the Aachener Strasse. Your report inspired a case of homesickness.

Glad you are having a good time.

Yeah... Mungersdorf is also the name of that neighborhood around the stadium.

It was kind of special at work last night. Man City's Toronto support group asked the team to bring the Premiership trophy to Canada and much to the surprise of everyone... they agreed! So we had it in the studio last night as well as their former captain Paul Lake who is now the PR Ambassador. I guess for the latent hockey fan in me it would be like running into Steve Yzerman and the Stanley Cup.

Anyway Dunlop introduced me and before and after the interview I was able to ask a fair few questions about the club and the players. One story they told of their current tour was kind of amusing. Some Rags fan showed up to see the trophy, but to his credit he congratulated them. He said, "we've won it nineteen times and United has never brought the trophy here... so more power to you!" hahaha....

Hardly. Pretty mid-table like and you are just a win out of 3rd place at 15 w 16 l. Just one point behind Tyce who is has a draw more. Resuscitation FC has the only chance to catch Al Abbas who has a seven point lead with seven games to play.

btw... you've got 2.2 mil in cash and a roster spot open because one of your players has left the league.

This country is looney tunes. Sportsnet and TSN started live coverage of the trade deadline at 8 AM !!

I like to pretend I am not one of them... (Curling is a much better game... hehe).

That 7-1 pasting was real bad. At least we broke the shutout we 30 secs left. I shudder to think what this team would be without Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

Hey, I'm dealing with all the Avs fans here. Not happy people. Just waking up to the fact that the org doesn't really give a shite about winning.
That said, the trade deadline means nothing to Avs fans...

True enough. I endured the Dead Things phase, but it is becoming a distant memory. 21 consecutive playoff appearances is pretty remarkable. It'll feel mighty weird with the Maple Loafs in and the Wings rebuilding.

No doubt that was a helluva run. The Russian 5 in the middle of a Yzerman/Shanahan lineup with grinders like Draper, Holmstrom, McCarty, and 2 stellar D men in Murphy and Lidstrom, all coached by Bowman? Damn. Those were some good teams.

I think the 2002 team was my favorite. They had a few veteran purchases like Brett Hull, Luc Robitaille, Fredrik Olausson, and Domenik Hasek.

alas the salary cap era was soon to begin.

My Eintracht Bamberg Smokeybiers have climbed out of the danger zone with some good wins in the past 2 of 3 weeks. They sacked their manager and brought is some good players who are making an impact. I have been made an honorary Raglos. As far as they know, I'm the only Bamberg fan from the USA. My reasons for liking the team were quite hilarious to them. Regardless, they accepted me... haha.

Sandy, your Stuttgarter Kickers are still in danger of dropping.

Hoark! Bletch! Rags win the title. 'nuff said...

How true indeed. It is a very serious situation. One ahead of the drop zone and the BVB reserves have two games in hand. The next match against Babelsberg will be pretty much do or die.

I watched the Kolschbiers play today. Damn, they had a win but allowed Duisburg to tie it in the 3rd and last minute of injury time. Dammit. Would've once again tied us for 3rd and a shot for the playoff. Now we have to hope K'Lautern loses somewhere along the way and we still have to play Berlin.

Wings by a ch. Crazy year helps the Leafs avoid their usual midseason choke job ;)
Playoffs should be interesting this year. I like the shorter season. Every game was more intense.
    Except in Colorado....

I'd prefer if you want to talk about an icy sport you, that you confine it to curling. ;) I like curling.

    Curling's a sport?

I've never tried curling, but I'm on a team for this:

I predict we'll drink more beers than leave stones in the house (but isn't that always the case ;))
