Sure, but they'll have to wing it over from Spain and England. I'm thinking 1/2 might go for it...

    Mr Sandolf.... where art thou?

I watched the NBC EPL special they ran. It was a pretty entertaining show I must admit, rather comical at times as well. Did you see it? Sounds like they bought some rights for EPL games... what do you know about it?

Had some good sound bites in there that was fairly comical.

"Coom on yow Baggies, Boing Boing"

"Did you know West Brom was separated from East Brom by a giant wall controlled by Russian communists" :roflmao:

He should see a lot of playing time at Sunderland with Fletcher injured. I will reserve comment until after a few matches in the Premier League.

I imagine he was starting anyway. I'd say 5 matches before comment would be appropriate. :D

I'll say this Sandy. I'm starting to get my confidence back in this team playing against top talent. And we didn't even have Dempsey, Donovan, or Beasley even making the trip. I'm happy we seem to finally have depth as well. I love the fact that we are scoring a lot of goals. I'm happy with our strikers and midfield.

The back 4 is still what concerns me. I don't know what we can do to get better there.

Well Comrade Tysbrewskevech... you had famous buffoons like Bruce Arena and Bob Bradley running your program. The minute they hired Juergen Klinsmann I knew my anti-American schtick was going to be somewhat endangered.

Klinsmann tried to modernize training methods at FC Bayern after doing the same at the German national squad. Of course the old toads like Hoeness, Beckenbauer and Rumminegge were skeptikal because the program did not show immediate results. So he was run out of town, but the remnants of what he has left behind didn`t. Jogi Loew is a brillant tactician as well. But before working with Klinsmann he was considered somewhat of a joke in Germany. Meanwhile Klinsmann was lampooned for living in Los Angeles instead of moving back home.

The pattern looked like it was going to repeat in the U.S. as well... except... the U.S. Federation would be at a loss to find some decent repacement for him on the trot. So they were forced to be patient. There is this useless saying in sports about the best team winning. To me it seems to be rarely the case. There were years when the Chargers had the best team. There were no titles. Too many tacticians knew what Schrottenheimer was going to do before he did!

Voetbol is a very strategic game. It is said that Barcelona`s system required twenty years to develop. Some of what they have done has rubbed off on the Spanish team. The results have been impressive to say the least. The U.S. is not going to have the luxury of having the best system and the best players in our lifetimes. But you can see the improvements if you get whatever talent you do have playing as a unit. The Americans do not have the star power to resist. Landon Donovan gave it shot. He was marginalized and is now working his way back.

So you are correct. It is going to become less and less important which players start. Provided that the program is allowed it`s proper time and stability.

Dead on. I truly believed in Klinsmann since Day 1 and was hoping for immediate results. Alas, we will have to wait until Brazil 2014 to see how far we have come. So far, Klinsmann's system is working and the players seem to have bought in.

Personally, I like how we perform more in the 4-4-2 as opposed to the 4-2-3-1.

It is a brilliant opportunity for him. Paolo Di Canio is a strict no nonsence manager. A perfect fit.

Well, we'll be a lot like England and Holland: Happy to make the semis. Nothing more expected.

Should be interesting. I might actually try to catch a Sunderland game on NBCSC.

A tad interesting. ESPN now owns the rights to the English Premier League, yet they aren't showing one live game this Saturday. NBC has apparently bought some rights from ESPN to show them, and NBC is airing live games this weekend. I always thought it didn't make sense for ESPN to buy the rights for the EPL since there is soo much college and pro football to cover on the weekends. Sad to see Fox Soccer not retain the rights.

Playing in the semis would be a raging success. One would need to erect a Flutopian style shrine to Klinsmann if that were the case. Winning one game beyond the group stage is a more reasonable expectation.

    Fark! I`ll say!

btw... How are you going to reslove the Newcastle - Sunderland conflict? That`s a Chargers vs Oakland/Denver scenario.

Shyte... I knew you were going to bring that up and I wasn't prepared to answer that yet, but I'm staying a Geordie, but I'll silently hope Altidore does well. :p
