F*CK YOU, if you are worried.

There is no reason to worry.

If you are worried, scared, petrified, or remotely shaking...you are a band-wagonner, thus you should promptly cancell your account here at BoltTalk and go back to enjoy our fine sunny San Diego weather. Come back around when the playoffs arrive, I for one will welcome you with open arms. We will celebrate together.

Folks, there is no reason to worry. It is ONE game. Puh-leassssse, the Cheatriots came in here w/ a chip on their shoulder and they exposed our one weakness (secondary), and they did a hell of a job of it. So what now? Our secondary better shape up, not right now...they have the next 14 games to do so (that's being generous). I'm not saying to clean house w/ our secondary.

But anyhow, do not fear, our Chargers are not in it to win 16 games in the season, it's all about the POST-SEASON.

ps. KUDOS to the Cheatriots...*ahem*, the Patriots for a game well played. They certainly whupped our ***.

Last year, going into week 3, we were sitting at the same 1-1 record.

As ugly as it was, hopefully it's nothing more than a massive wake up call.

    But damn it hurts.

    edit: fixed typo

That was a butt whoopin. But remember it is a long season and these NE guys are pretty old bunch of jokers. We will see how young their legs are in January.

I think this is the best thing that could have happened to the Chargers. No one will be overconfident now.

Dude, there's plenty of reason to worry. No reason to panic or jump to conclusions, but definately a butt load of reason to worry.

Are you trying to say that a "true fan" always operates on blind faith and never sees (or discusses) problems? I hope not, cause that would be kinda... um... crazy.

Yeah, last year we were at 2-1 after 3 games, so when we beat the Pack next week, we'll be at the same mark. I knew when the schedule came out, that playing the Pats on the road so early in the season would be a handful for us. The Pats are more vulnerable late in the season. I welcome a rematch against them in the playoffs.
Nobody should sweat this. The offense will get things going, and the defensive secondary will improve. It's unrealistic we would go 14-2 again, playing a much tougher schedule this year.

Hey the Pats are one of the 4 elite teams in the league along with us, and a Super Bowl fav among alot of people. They gave us a hard thumpin' !! All good teams struggle at some point. We will find our way, just wait.
It could have been worse, we could have gave up 51 points to the Browns and lost.:icon_rofl:

Yep. To hear Madden describe River's lack of maturity was equally embarrassing as the butt whipping we received. If he really wants to be an elite QB, he needs to calm down and show some leadership.

Well said, BDH, although I'd have to say that 'humiliated' is more the word for it.......

At least, the Foxborough Fiasco is behind us, and with any luck at all, we'll have learned some big lessons from it. We played like a high school team last night, and sad to say, we deserved to get our butts handed to us. Next week, the rest of the defense besides Merriman needs to come ready to play, Rivers and the O-line need to get their head together, and the coaching staff needs to be engaged in what's going on on the field, rather than meander along the sidelines looking bored.

    JMHO.:icon_sad:

That's a bunch of crap!!! If you're not worried, then you must have watched a different game last night.
We're in trouble and I have NO faith in Norv (not that I ever did anyway)!!!

Cheatriots, Patriots... call them what you want but they whipped our *** simply beacuse we have the worst HC in NFL history!!

Anybody can get beat and one game isn't a season commentary, but there is plenty of room for concern here. We'll see what happens with the Pack, but as for this weeks game, the failure to adjust bothers me more than anything. There were too many times when Pat receivers were Lost in Space. This wasn't just an *** whoopin', it appeared the Chargers were in over their heads. It wouldn't have been so bad if it had been a shootout, but this was like shooting fish in a barrel. We didn't have enough ammo for gunfight. This was like the French at Dien Bien Phu. We were shelled from the heights.

    Worried. Not yet.

Rivers looked "Breesesque" on some of those throws to the other team. You would have thought Rivers was 5'11 and not 6'5. Dude the Bolts were in the WHITE jerseys.

Same issues the secondary has had since...well I can not speak for the 60s teams since I did not watch them, but since the 70s I have not seen a top-notch secondary in SD.

Why do they ALWAYS play waaaaay the fuc off the ball and NEVER hit them coming off the line. It is like the DBs were freaking escorts to a WR prom last night.

The thing is against the Bears we were aggressive and the defense was playing with a lot of energy. Granted it was Rex Grossman but the difference is night and day......:icon_huh: :icon_evil:

That Bears game was pretty physical and I have to wonder how much gas we had in the tank but either way it's no excuse for last night.

    Fix it.

Yep. Embarassed is how I feel today, because we laid an egg on national television after the media and our players trumpeted how good we were.

But everyone needs some humiliation sometimes.

We have a game next week, and sixteen more after that. We probably won't win 'em all, though I certainly think we are capable. I just hope we keep our mouths shut and let our play speak for itself next time.

Yes, Brady and Grossman are night and day as QBs go. Hell they aren't even on the same galaxy let alone planet.

You want to take Moss out of his rhythm, then you have to knock the snot out of him early and often. You let the WRs for NE come free off the line and Brady will carve up a D like a thanksgiving turkey. That was what our D resembled out there. A flying turkey.

Concerned, embarrassed, pissed off, disgusted - I've got a lot of emotions surrounding last night's game, but scared ain't one of 'em.

This team needs a wake-up call. WE're not going to just pick up where we left off last year. We don't get invited to the post-season party - we EARN it!!

I felt that perhaps our coaches played conservative against the Bears because they're very good at the takeaway game. Last night we should have been throwing open the playbook. I didn't see it happen. No wrinkles on either side of the ball.

One of my biggest complaints against Marty was in-game adjustments. I saw NONE last night. None.

Message to the Bolts organization: Stop reading how talented you all are, forget about last year's Pro Bowl blitz, & play smart, hard-nosed, smashmouth football for 60 friggin' minutes!! Act like you're professionals! Coaches, get your heads out of your asses & coach! We're better than this - now show up & play!!! :icon_evil:

AJ - you wanna win or have people kiss your feet? Time for a little "come to Jesus" meeting, IMO.

Exactly. What gets me is this is a well-known fact on defending Moss, right? Then why is it our D coaches didn't employ this strategy? Jammer can't jam... is that it? Seriously... I don't get it. :icon_huh:

The turkey is the dumbest animal on the planet... I see 'em every time I go riding the trails behind my house.

During this morning's ride, instead of their usual stupid audibles as they're running away... they just looked at me, stood their ground, shook their wattle's, and blurted: "BRADY OWNS YOU BIITCHES!"

    I feel so ashamed.
