Merriman to the Pats for a #2? Adam Schefter proposed trade, would you do it? I would call it a go...

What's the meaning behind your screen name?

(I wouldn't trade Merriman unless we got immediate help on the D-line in return)

It's the Pansies record for the past 2 years.

The answer to this question is no. We have so many gaping holes right now on both sides of the ball that we would need Wilfork in return.

No. Not to the Pats. Were the Rams or the Browns to come in then maybe. Theirs will b much higher picks.

I agree a million % with this and if there would be a straight up trade I would want either Ty Warren or Vince Wilfork from the Pats.

I get the Tease, but if we would do that kind of trade it would be for one injured player for another, this time Mayo.

Absolutely no. We needs players not picks.

    A) We're chasing a Super Bowl, we need players that can help us now not picks that can help us later.
    B) We'd be making the Patriots (a team we're likely to meet in the playoffs) immediately better. And it'd be a late 2nd round pick at that.
    C) Merriman still has upside. If he gets healthy and starts looking like......I dunno Lawrence Timmons late in the season, then its well worth it to keep him.
    D) Depending on his value we can still tag and trade him in the offseason.

NO, not the Pats. They also would not want to pay him the FA money in the offseason.

Plus, do not trade him to the AFC.

I wouldn't piss on the Pats if they were on fire.

For a 2nd???? HELL NO...The only way this would be justified is if we got an o-lineman or d-lineman in addition to the pick..and by a lineman I don't mean some warm body, I mean a decent player

But that trade would make us instantly better with Wilfork and Mayo is a monster and when back healthy is better than both of our ILB's combined.

I've said elsewhere, if you trade Merriman for a pick the season is OVER. You send a message to the rest of the players that we are rebuilding.

Don't give up on the guy yet.
he could be a difference maker if we make the playoffs.

If we traded him to the Pats, it would be just like Rodney Harrison all over again. I don't want to trade Merriman especially this season while his value is down. Does't it usally take a year of playing to be fully recovered?
