NFL has fined Tomlin $100k for being on the field of play during the Ravens return...

    Good for them.

This is a slap on the wrist at that level. Taking away a draft choice would have been a more serious measure.

And perhaps a timeout for Coach Clueless. At least an asterisk.

    Didn't Rapelisberger provide Tomlin's firstborn?

I remember Ted Leitner doing a story on those fines. Unless the law has changed that fine is considered a business expense, and those expenses can be a tax deduction. Fine him he gets a tax deduction. And Because the Rooney family has some pull within the NFL that draft pick might be a very low one anyway. I don't see how will that hurt them?

Especially considering Leitner's story on fines being tax deductible (Tomlin is likely in the highest tax bracket), the fine is a slap on the wrist.
Not sure what Tomlin's salary is, but if for example he makes $3 mil, a $100k fine is roughly a 3% deduct. Factor in (for sh1ts and giggles) a 50% tax deduction, and the fine looks more like 1.5%.
About the same as a guy who makes $50,000 getting fined $750.
There needs to be a loss or lowering of draft pick too.
